Liquid-Cooled Commercial 50kW and Above Standby Units

For a period of two (2) years from the date of sale, Generac Power Systems, Inc. will, at its option, repair or replace any part(s) which, upon examination, inspection, and testing by Generac Power Systems or an Authorized/Certified Generac Power Systems Dealer, or branch thereof, is found to be defective under normal use and service, in accordance with the warranty schedule set forth below. Any equipment that the purchaser/owner claims to be defective must be examined by the nearest Authorized/ Certified Generac Power Systems Dealer, or branch thereof. This warranty applies only to Generac Power Systems Generators used in "Standby" applications, as Generac Power Systems, Inc. has defined Standby, provided said generator has been properly installed and inspected on-site by appropriate personnel. Scheduled maintenance, as outlined by the generator owner's manual, is highly recommended. This should be performed by an Authorized/Certified Generac Power Systems Dealer, or branch thereof. This will verify service has been performed on the unit throughout the warranty period.

Guidelines:

  • Any and all warranty repairs and/or concerns, must be performed and/or addressed by an Authorized/Certified Generac Power Systems Dealer, or branch thereof.
  • A Generac Power Systems, Inc. Transfer Switch is highly recommended to be used in conjunction with the genset. If a Non - Generac Power Systems, Inc. Transfer Switch is substituted for use and directly causes damage to the genset, no warranty coverage shall apply.
  • All warranty expense allowances are subject to the conditions defined in Generac Power Systems Warranty, Policies, and Procedures Flat Rate Manual.
  • Units that have been resold are not covered under the Generac Power Systems Warranty, as this Warranty is not transferable.
  • Unit enclosure is only covered against rust or corrosion the first year of the warranty provision.
  • Use of Non-Generac replacement part(s) will void the warranty in its entirety.
  • Engine coolant heaters (block-heaters), heater controls and circulating pumps are only covered during the first year of the warranty provision (If applicable).

    • THIS WARRANTY SHALL NOT APPLY TO THE FOLLOWING:
      • Any unit built/manufactured prior to January 1, 2005.
      • Costs of normal maintenance (i.e. tune-ups, associated part(s), adjustments, loose/leaking clamps, installation and start-up).
      • Any failure caused by contaminated fuels, oils, coolants/antifreeze or lack of proper fuels, oils or coolants/antifreeze.
      • Units sold, rated or used for "Prime Power", "Trailer Mounted" or "Rental Unit" applications as Generac Power Systems have defined Prime Power, Trailer Mounted or Rental Unit. Contact a Generac Power Systems Distributor for Prime Power, Trailer Mounted or Rental Unit definition and warranty.
      • Units used for prime power in place of existing utility power where utility is present or in place of utility power where utility power service does not normally exist.
      • Failures caused by any external cause or act of God such as, but not limited to, collision, fire, theft, freezing, vandalism, riot or wars, lightning, earthquake, windstorm, hail, volcanic eruption, water or flood, tornado, hurricane, terrorist acts or nuclear holocaust.
      • Products that are modified or altered in a manner not authorized by Generac Power Systems in writing.
      • Failures due, but not limited to, normal wear and tear, accident, misuse, abuse, negligence, or improper installation or sizing.
      • Any incidental, consequential or indirect damages caused by defects in materials or workmanship, or any delay in repair or replacement of the defective part(s).
      • Failure due to misapplication, misrepresentation, or bi-fuel conversion.
      • Telephone, facsimile, cell phone, satellite, internet, or any other communication expenses.
      • Rental equipment used while warranty repairs are being performed (i.e. rental generators, cranes, etc.).
      • Overtime, holiday, or emergency labor.
      • Planes, ferries, railroad, busses, helicopters, snowmobiles, snow-cats, off-road vehicle or any other mode of transportation deemed abnormal.
      • Any and all expenses incurred investigating performance complaints unless defective Generac materials and/or workmanship were the direct cause of the problem.
      • Starting batteries, fuses, light bulbs, engine fluids, and overnight freight cost for replacement part(s).
        • THIS WARRANTY IS IN PLACE OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED, SPECIFICALLY, GENERAC POWER SYSTEMS MAKES NO OTHER WARRANTIES AS TO THE MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.

           

          Any implied warranties which are allowed by law, shall be limited in duration to the terms of the express warranty provided herein. Some states do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so the above limitation may not apply to purchaser/owner.

           

          GENERAC POWER SYSTEMS ONLY LIABILITY SHALL BE THE REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT OF PART(S) AS STATED ABOVE. QuietSource Under 50kW Standby Units

Guardian Air-Cooled 8kW-20kW Standby Units

For a period of three years from successful activation of the unit (one (1) year or one thousand hours, whichever occurs first, for units in international markets), Generac Power Systems, Inc. (Generac) warrants that its standby generator will be free from defects in material and workmanship for the items and period set forth below. Generac will, at its option, repair or replace any part(s) which, upon examination, inspection and testing by Generac or an Authorized/Certified Generac Service Dealer, is found to be defective. Any equipment that the purchaser/owner claims to be defective must be examined by the nearest Authorized/Certified Generac Service Dealer. This warranty applies only to Generac emergency automatic standby generators used in "Standby" applications as Generac has defined Standby. Scheduled Maintenance, as outlined by the generator owner’s manual, is highly recommended. This Scheduled Maintenance should be performed by an Authorized/Certified Generac Service Dealer. This will verify service has been performed on the unit throughout the warranty period.

GUIDELINES:
  • Warranty begins upon the successful activation of the unit.
  • Unit should be Registered and Proof of Purchase and Maintenance must be available.
  • Warranty is transferable between ownership of original installation site.
  • Warranty only applies to permanently wired and mounted units.
  • Any and all warranty repairs and/or concerns, must be performed and/or addressed by an Authorized/Certified Generac Service Dealer, or branch thereof. Repairs or diagnostics performed by individuals other than Authorized/Certified Generac Service Dealers not authorized in writing by Generac will not be covered.
  • A Generac Transfer Switch is highly recommended to be used in conjunction with the generator set. If a Non-Generac Transfer Switch is substituted for use and directly causes damage to the generator set, no warranty coverage shall apply.
  • Steel enclosures are warranted against rusting for the first year of ownership only. Damage caused after receipt of generator is the responsibility of the owner and is not covered by this warranty. Nicks, scrapes, dents or scratches to the painted enclosure should be repaired promptly by the owner.
  • All warranty expense allowances are subject to the conditions defined in Generac's General Service Policy Manual.

    • THIS WARRANTY SHALL NOT APPLY TO THE FOLLOWING:
      • Any unit built/manufacturer prior to April 2010.
      • Generac generators that utilize non-Generac replacement parts.
      • Costs of normal maintenance (i.e. tune-ups, associated part(s), adjustments, loose/leaking clamps, installation and start-up).
      • Units sold, rated or used for "Prime Power", "Trailer Mounted" or "Rental Unit" applications as Generac has defined Prime Power, Trailer Mounted or Rental Unit. Contact a Generac Distributor for Prime Power, Trailer Mounted or Rental Unit definition.
      • Damage to generator system (including transfer switch) caused by improper installation or costs necessary to correct installation.
      • Units used for Prime Power in place of existing utility power (where utility power is present) or in place of utility power where utility power service does not normally exist.
      • Fuel connections other than conventional utility company supplied natural gas systems or conventional LP vapor withdrawal systems.
      • Any failure caused by contaminated fuels, oils, coolants/antifreeze or lack of proper fuels, oils or coolants/antifreeze.
      • Steel enclosures that are rusting due to the improper installation, location in a harsh or saltwater environment or scratched where integrity of paint applied is compromised.
      • Failures due, but not limited, to normal wear and tear, accident, misuse, abuse, negligence or improper installation. As with all mechanical devices, the Generac engines need periodic part(s) service and fluid replacement to perform as designed. This warranty will not cover repair when normal use has exhausted the life of a part(s) or engine.
      • Failures caused by any external cause or act of God, such as collision, theft, vandalism, riot or wars, nuclear holocaust, fire, freezing, lightning, earthquake, windstorm, hail, volcanic eruption, water or flood, tornado or hurricane.
      • Damage related to rodent and/or insect infestation.
      • Products that are modified or altered in a manner not authorized by Generac in writing.
      • Covered warranty labor rates are based on normal working hours. Overtime, holiday, or emergency labor costs for repairs outside of normal business hours will be the responsibility of the customer.
      • Any incidental, consequential or indirect damages caused by defects in materials or workmanship, or any delay in repair or replacement of the defective part(s).
      • Failure due to misapplication.
      • Telephone, cellular phone, facsimile, internet access or other communication expenses.
      • Living or travel expenses of person(s) performing service, except as specifically included within the terms of a specific unit warranty period.
      • Expenses related to "customer instruction" or troubleshooting where no manufacturing defect is found.
      • Rental equipment used while warranty repairs are being performed and/or overnight freight costs for replacement part(s).
      • Costs incurred for equipment used for removal and/or reinstallation of generator, (i.e.: cranes, hoists, lifts, etc.)
      • Planes, ferries, railroad, buses, helicopters, snowmobiles, snow-cats, off-road vehicles or any other mode of transport deemed abnormal.
      • Starting batteries, fuses, light bulbs and engine fluids.

GP Portable Series Warranty

For a period of two years from the date of original sale, Generac Power Systems, Inc. (Generac) warrants its GP Series generators will be free from defects in materials and workmanship for the items and period set forth below. Generac will, at its option, repair or replace any part which, upon examination, inspection and testing by Generac or a Generac Authorized Warranty Service Dealer, is found to be defective. Any equipment that the purchaser/owner claims to be defective must be returned to and examined by the nearest Generac Authorized Warranty Service Dealer. All transportation costs under the warranty, including return to the factory, are to be borne and prepaid by the purchaser/owner. This warranty applies only to Generac GP Series portable generators and is not transferable from original purchaser. Save your proof-of-purchase receipt. If you do not provide proof of the initial purchase date, the manufacturer’s shipping date of the product will be used to determine the warranty period.


WARRANTY SCHEDULE

Consumer applications are warranted for two (2) years. Commercial and Rental applications are warranted for one (1) year or 1000 hours maximum, whichever comes first.

        • NOTE:

          For the purpose of this warranty “consumer use” means personal residential household or recreational use by original purchaser. This warranty does not apply to units used for Prime Power in place of utility where utility power service is present or where utility power service does not normally exist. Once a generator has experienced commercial or rental use, it shall thereafter be considered a non-consumer use generator for the purpose of this warranty.


          All warranty expense allowances are subject to the conditions defined in Generac’s Warranty Policies, Procedures and Flat Rate Manual.


          THIS WARRANTY SHALL NOT APPLY TO THE FOLLOWING:
          • Generac built portable generators built prior to May 2008.

Reconditioned Portable Warranty

For a period of one year from the date of original sale, Generac Power Systems, Inc. (Generac) warrants its reconditioned portable generators will be free from defects in materials and workmanship for the items and period set forth below. Generac will, at its option, repair or replace any part which, upon examination, inspection and testing by Generac or a Generac Authorized Warranty Service Dealer, is found to be defective. Any equipment that the purchaser/owner claims to be defective must be returned to and examined by the nearest Generac Authorized Warranty Service Dealer. All transportation costs under the warranty, including return to the factory, are to be borne and prepaid by the purchaser/owner. This warranty applies only to Generac reconditioned portable generators and is not transferable from original purchaser. Save your proof-of-purchase receipt. If you do not provide proof of the initial purchase date, the manufacturer’s shipping date of the product will be used to determine the warranty period.

RV Generator Warranty

NOTE: ALL UNITS MUST BE INSTALLED BY GENERAC POWER SYSTEMS AUTHORIZED SERVICE FACILITIES. For a period of 3 (three) years of operation from the date of original sale, Generac Power Systems, Inc. (Generac) will, at its option, repair or replace any part which, upon examination, inspection and testing by Generac or a Generac Authorized Warranty Service Facility, is found to be defective under normal use and service, in accordance with the warranty schedule set forth below. Any equipment that the purchaser/owner claims to be defective must be returned to and examined by the nearest Generac Authorized Warranty Service Facility. All transportation costs under the warranty, including return to the factory, are to be borne and prepaid by the purchaser/owner. This warranty applies only to Generac generators sold and rated for “Recreational Vehicle” (RV) applications, as Generac has defined Recreational Vehicle generator applications. The factory recommends exercising the unit one half-hour every month.

Transfer Switch Warranty

 

NOTE: ALL UNITS MUST HAVE A START-UP INSPECTION PERFORMED BY AN AUTHORIZED GENERAC DEALER.

 

For a period of 2 (two) years from the date of sale/start date, Generac Power Systems, Inc. will, at its option, repair or replace any part(s) which, upon examination, inspection, and testing by Generac Power Systems or a Generac Power Systems Authorized Warranty Service Facility, is found to be defective under normal use and service, in accordance with the warranty schedule set forth below. Any equipment that the purchaser/owner claims to be defective must be returned to, and examined by the nearest Generac Power Systems Authorized Warranty Service Facility.

 

All transportation costs under the warranty, including return to the factory, are to be borne and prepaid by the purchaser/owner. This warranty applies only to Generac Power Systems Transfer Switch applications, as Generac Power Systems, Inc. have defined Transfer Switch application, provided said Transfer Switch has been initially installed and inspected on-site by a Generac Power Systems Authorized Service Dealer or branch thereof. A scheduled maintenance agreement with a local Authorized Generac Power Systems Dealer is highly recommended to verify adequate service has been performed on the unit throughout the warranty period.

      A Generac Power Systems, Inc. Transfer Switch is highly recommended to be used in conjunction with the genset. If a non Generac genset is substituted for use and directly causes damage to the Generac Transfer Switch, no warranty coverage shall apply.

      All warranty expense allowances are subject to the conditions defined in Generac Power Systems Warranty, Policies, and Procedures Flat Rate Manual.

      Units that have been resold are not covered under the Generac Power Systems Warranty, as this Warranty is not transferable.

       

      THIS WARRANTY SHALL NOT APPLY TO THE FOLLOWING:

        • Any unit built/manufactured prior to January 1, 2002.
        • Unit enclosure is only covered against rust or corrosion the first year of the warranty provision.
        • Costs of normal maintenance i.e. tune-ups, associated part(s), adjustments, loose/leaking clamps, installation and start-up.
        • Use of Non-Generac replacement part(s) will void the warranty in its entirety.
        • Any failure caused by contaminated fuels, oils, coolants/antifreeze or lack of proper fuels, oils or coolants/antifreeze.
        • Failures due, but not limited to, normal wear and tear, accident, misuse, abuse, negligence, or improper installation or sizing.
        • Failures caused by any external cause or act of God such as collision, fire, theft, freezing, vandalism, riot or wars, lightning, earthquake, windstorm, hail, volcanic eruption, water or flood, tornado, hurricane, terrorist acts or nuclear holocaust.
        • Products that are modified or altered in a manner not authorized by Generac Power Systems in writing.
        • Any incidental, consequential or indirect damages caused by defects in materials or workmanship, or any delay in repair or replacement of the defective part(s).
        • Failure due to misapplication, misrepresentation, or bi-fuel conversion.
        • Telephone, telegraph, teletype or other communication expenses.
        • Living or travel expenses of person(s) performing service, except as specifically included within the terms of a specific unit warranty period.
        • Rental equipment used while warranty repairs are being performed i.e. rental generators, cranes, etc..
        • Overtime labor or more than one person performing repairs.
        • Any and all expenses incurred investigating performance complaints unless defective Generac materials and or workmanship were the direct cause of the problem.
        • Engine coolant heaters (block-heaters), heater controls and circulating pumps after the first year.
        • Starting batteries, fuses, light bulbs, and engine fluids, tires, brakes and overnight freight cost for replacement part(s).

Residential Pressure Washer Warranty

For a period of two years from the date of original sale, Generac Power Systems, Inc. (Generac) warrants its Pressure Washers will be free from defects in materials and workmanship for the items and period set forth below. Generac will, at its option, repair or replace any part which, upon examination, inspection and testing by Generac or a Generac Authorized Warranty Service Dealer, is found to be defective. Repair or replacement pursuant to this limited warranty shall not renew or extend the original warranty period. Any repaired product shall be warranted for the remaining original warranty period only. Any equipment that the purchaser/owner claims to be defective must be returned to and examined by the nearest Generac Authorized Warranty Service Dealer. All transportation costs under the warranty, including return to the factory, are to be borne and prepaid by the purchaser/owner. This warranty applies only to Generac Pressure Washers and is not transferable from original purchaser. Save your proof-of-purchase receipt. If you do not provide proof of the initial purchase date, the manufacturer’s shipping date of the product will be used to determine the warranty period.

          GUIDELINES


          • The customer is responsible to read and follow all operating instructions.
          • Products that are damaged due to improper operation, will not be covered by warranty. This includes water pump components that are started without the required water flow and pressure.
          • The customer will be responsible to transport the product to an authorized Generac repair facility for all Warranty All Components.
          • Verification of maintenance may be requested for coverage of Warranty Repairs.
          • Warranty Labor Rates are based on normal working hours. Additional costs for overtime, holiday or emergency labor costs for repairs outside normal business hours will be the responsibility of the customer.
          • Warranty Parts shipment costs are reimbursed at ground shipment rates. Costs related to requests for expedited shipping will be the responsibility of the customer.

            • THIS WARRANTY SHALL NOT APPLY TO THE FOLLOWING:


              • Generac pressure washers that utilize non-Generac replacement parts.
              • Costs of normal maintenance and adjustments.
              • Failures caused by any contaminated or improper fuels, oils or lack of proper oil levels.
              • Repairs or diagnostics performed by individuals other than Guardian/Generac authorized dealers not authorized in writing by Generac Power Systems.
              • Failures due, but not limited, to normal wear and tear, accident, misuse, abuse, negligence or improper use. As with all mechanical devices, the Generac engines need periodic part(s) service and replacement to perform as designed. This warranty will not cover repair when normal use has exhausted the life of a part(s) or engine.
              • Failures caused by any act of God and other force majeure events beyond the manufactures control.
              • Water freezing in the pump (water must be drained from the pump at the end of the season in freezing climates).
              • Damage related to rodent and/or insect infestation.
